Twitter Scorecard--May Results

The challenge in this is to keep in mind what messages we want to put out to our followers, and how we are gaining value from the effort involved. One analysis that I hope to see soon is the correlation between followers and web traffic--that is, to what extent are the links we are providing to our websites actually helping to boost our web traffic numbers.

Nice to see so many Incisive folks embracing the New Media Train!
2 quick thoughts:
1. It is not a competition, think quality versus quantity. A handful of your best or potential customer followers is worth more than hundreds of spammers (and there are a lot on Twitter, Facebook and even LinkedIn).
2. I find letting a bit of your personality come through your posts is a good thing - your customers and colleagues are not robots!
Traffic results and even better conversions will defn paint an interesting picture. I know at ClickZ.com and SearchEngineWatch.com Twitter is often a top 10 referral site. As for conversions/sales LinkedIn leads the (social)network pack followed by Facebook and finally Twitter.
Honesty compels me to point out the the figure on my score (TR_Smith) is my following, not followers. The correct figure is 217
Thanks
Tim
Thanks for the correction! --Bill
We saw a direct result this week between Tweets and web traffic. One of our bloggers wrote about the 20 best Twitterers that lawyers should follow. (Naturally she put The Legal Intelligencer on there among her 20). That blog headline was Tweeted by us, and then re-Tweeted by many of our followers, and the blog became one of the most read web items for the week. It also doubled our followers on Twitter.
